“Building Leaders, Brightening Futures”
Each summer the Youth Explosion of Bartow County organizes our annual Youth Explosion event consisting of various workshops for students aged five years old and up. This event is geared toward educating children to make them aware of current issues they may be confronted with in life and provide solutions.
The workshops are by grade level: 1st – 3rd, 4th – 6th, 7th-9th, 10th – College.
Past topics include: mental health, drug abuse, financial literacy, abstinence, bullying, character education, ethics, physical health, self-reliance, crisis resources, life skills, accountability, self-esteem, social media etiquette, teen suicide.
The day concludes each year with a festival. Students are entered into a drawing for prizes after each workshop they attend. The festival begins at 4 p.m. with free food, water slides, video game trucks, face painting and music.
We are eagerly planning activities for this year’s event, which will be held on August 5, 2023 at the Summer Hill Complex in Cartersville, GA.
Registration starts at 11:00 am.
Workshops begin at 12 noon.
Registration for Youth Explosion
Our major fundraiser is the Ralph Lowe Memorial Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held at the Woodland Hills Golf Club in Cartersville, GA on May 26, 2023.
- Shotgun start at 9:00 am.
- Fee is $125 per person and covers green fee, range balls, cart and lunch.
- Play is four-person teams, select shot. Players can form their own team; singles will be paired.
- USGA and local rules observed.
- Check-in 7:45am – 8:45am.
- Range balls available at 8:15am.
